Many IT organizations continue to struggle with strategy alignment and demonstrating the value of IT to the business. Recently a group of IT Executives discussed this topic and concluded there was no silver bullet when it comes to IT Governance, or is there?
IT Governance can be defined as the guiding principles for directors on how to ensure the use of IT is effective, efficient and acceptable. Robert McIsaac, Group Vice President & Chief Information Officer First Citizens Bank simplified it when he indicated “effective IT Governance is about using the right resources on the right problem in the right amounts at the right time”.

The recent sourcing of HR by Unilever to Accenture and by Delta Lloyd to ARINSO shows that now in fact HR sourcing in the Netherlands is happening. Although forms of sourcing occurred they were mostly focused on HR transactions, functions often closely related to personnel administration and payroll and not HR processes. A variety of authors predicted this trend. For instance Ulrich tells us that HR only can survive if the role switches from confidential agent and administrative expert to strategist and change manager

Enterprise Windows vs. Linux vs. UNIX Server Platforms: AIX on Top Followed by the MacOS?!?
Laura DiDio of ITIC just completed an in depth survey on the reliability of Linux, Windows Server, and UNIX and to the surprise of most of us AIX came out on top with a massive lead even though UNIX servers generally were carrying, according to Laura, a much higher load.
